The Weather In Review (December 2001)

This first graph shows the temps for the months of December. Each black vertical line represents a day in time. Note the highs at the beginning of the month and how well above average they were. Only the last week of the month was normal.

This graph shows the Barometric pressure for December. Once again each vertical line represents a day in time.

This graph shows the wind speeds in a daily series for the month of December. Please note, tthis is not the maximum wind speeds for the month.

Rainfall for the month of December was once again well below normal. Normal rain from the climate database above is 4.24". We only received 2.04".

This graph shows the maximum and minimum temps along with the climatalogical norms. and records for the month of December. 20 out of the 31 days had above normal high temps and 28 days were above normal for low temps. Amazing!!!. Also two records were broken, one on the 1st. of December, 65.8 beating the old record of 65 set in 1962. The second record occured 5 days later on the 6th. of December, 65.1 beating the old record of 65 in1982.

This graph represents the max min windchills for the month of December. Note that the beginning of the month was not to impressive, but towards the end of the month the wind chills were at least some what more like it for December.

Here is the maximum and minimum barometric pressure values for the month of December. An extremely low pressure did occure this month on December 18th. of 29.12". This is also the day that the most rain fell, corresponding with a big low which passed almost directly over us.

This graph represents the maximum and minimum wind speeds that occured during December. The highest wind speed occured on the 18th.., which as you may recall, was also the day of the lowest pressure and highest rainfall.

The average maximum and minimum winds for the month roughly follow the peak winds for the month.

Here is the maximum and minimum rainfall that occured during December. There were 13 days of rain during the month totaling 2.04"
